When you log in, check the box that says to not show you online. This might help but I'm not sure if Gillian has it set to hide the face, or only remove you from the list of people online.

Ok thanks, I've just been wondering about it and hating it at the same time for awhile now.

Smiley face is still there... Guess I'm just gonna have to get used to it.
