Hmmm I didn't really used to play Sonic much. I think I remember playing it a bit as a kid. But I got bored...
There are still games online for free though around, Ey?

All sonic games are about collecting rings and gems
I don't wanna play a hero that's only objective in life is to collect shiny things =\
