Hey everyone,

Well, first off, April's just about here, and we've got updates galore for you. But first, a word about hackers.

We're aware of the recent hacking activity, and will announce and pursue new initiatives to combat this. We'll be unveiling the details in due time, but we're going to put our foot on the necks of those would ruin others' gameplay, and keep it there. The BanHammer cometh soon...

So, what's new for this month's Update? Well, its called "New Features & New Creatures!", and its so big, we'll have to introduce each section in separate blogs! First up, let's talk about Family.

Families are your life companions. They'll always be in your corner, giving their support. Matter of fact, just the other day...

"Check this out!" yelped my coworker. I knew that today I was to be given instructions on a new quest line, but, sadly, no one had told me when. So it was a bit of a surprise to have a stack of papers fly at my face, but at least I didn't have to wait anymore.

Well knowing me, I hastily skimmed through the pages just to get to the good part.

I had the fortune of being one of the first to test out the new Family System. I was to create a family, but it was my discovery that I wasn't able to do this alone, for obvious reasons. I mean, a family can't really consist of one person, can it? So of course that meant I had to wrangle up a few of the new guys in my department - they'll do anything. Shortly after, we had the makings of a family - well almost.

I now had "juniors" that I had to support. Captain Al had told me that I had to look out for them. In other words, I had to pull them up by their bootstraps, show 'em the ropes, and be a responsible leader. The whole time I was thinking, "What's in this for me?! Why would I ever want to help out a newb?!"

Suddenly, a flood of memories came rushing through my head about my early Maple career. It's funny, the things my Shadower can afford now makes all the time I spent scrounging for mesos on my Rogue seem downright sad. Heck, I could barely afford to recharge my throwing stars! That's when I knew how much the Family System made sense. If only I had a good leader to help me out every now and then, life would have been so much easier!

After a few days of looking out for my new juniors, I found it incredibly interesting just how much I wanted to see them succeed. It brings a heart-warming tear to your eye, don't it?

So what's next? We grow, as any good family should!

Signing off,
GM Crash
