“Kyyyaaaa!”
A scream interrupted Marisa’s concentration, and the spell stopped. A roar sounded out so loudly that Zaylo was pushed further to the edge of the island. Up in the sky, Alice had been taken hostage by a large brown coloured beast. The beast had large brown wings and wore and skull over its face like a mask symbolizing the very thing it does best. Bringing Death. Alice squirmed but she could not move, her dolls needed her magic to move and with her restrained, they fell to the ground lifeless. Zaylo looked up grasping his sword. “Alice!” Marisa grabbed her broom and jumped on and began floating up. Zaylo jumped up onto the broom as well and stood on it as it flew up.
“Get off you monster!” Marisa punched out at Zaylo, who blocked it with the side of his sword.
“That’s an Einst Balrog. You’ll need my help if you want to save her. Marisa glared, but knew she had no other choice, as the enemy seemed extremely powerful and hostile. Marisa flew higher up higher as the Balrog began gaining altitude as well. The Balrog noticed them and roared, black dots flew out of the mouth of the demon, and floated a few meters above Marisa and Zaylo. Black lightning rained from the balls.
“Hold on!” Marisa shouted and sped up flying around the lightning and dodged with expert agility. Zaylo was hold on onto her shoulder keeping his balance as the speed continued to accelerate. As they drew closer, the Balrog with it’s free hand clawed at them, Zaylo quickly jumped from the broom and landed on the Balrog’s arm and slashed the hand off. Marisa quickly rolled to dodge the initial swipe and shot a smaller master spark into the stomach of the beast. Zaylo kicked Balrog in the face. The Balrog lost focus and dropped Alice from his grip. Alice fell straight down, gaining speed as she fell.
“Shit.” Zaylo jumped from the arm into a straight diving position and quickly caught up to Alice. He grabbed her hand and reached one hand up and grabbed Marisa’s broom.
Marisa pulled up on the broom. “This waaay over the weight limit.” Thankfully they reached Orbis and they landed gently. Zaylo’s mask and hood had fallen off, the mask no where able to be seen.
Alice sighed relief. “Thank you,” She said gently towards Zaylo. Zaylo picked up the broadsword once again. “Shall we continue?” The blood from the blade fell to the ground creating a red circle around his feet, runes forming from the blood. Alice backed up; there was no way to defeat the blood user. Marisa and Alice backed up. “Why did you save me if you just want to kill us?”
“Say the ones who attacked me!” Zaylo shouted glaring at Marisa. Marisa looked away and whistled ignoring the conversation.
“I apologize for my friend.” Alice said sighing, while bringing her hand to her face.
The blood from the dagger and broadsword fell to the floor and disappeared into white silver flakes. Zaylo turned and looked down from the edge of Orbis, the scenery looking anything but familiar. “What is this place?” He muttered to himself. Alice approached from behind. “D-do you have amnesia or something?” She asked.
Zaylo looked back and pulled his hood back up. “No, I’m not from here.”
Marisa’s eyes lit up, he looked human, and does this mean he had gotten through the barrier? Marisa jumped in between Alice and Zaylo and smiled sweetly, “Are you from another world?”
Zaylo, obviously not fooled by her sudden change in attitude frowned. “Yeah, I am. So is this place.” He motioned to the large town of Orbis. “Everything in our world has become white, even some of it is disappearing. Like this floating island. It was in our world and it disappeared not to long ago. Then my friends and I lost our colour as well, and this is where I ended up.”
“Then there’s a chance your friends are still alive?” Alice said.
“I suppose. I’ll have to go find them.” Zaylo said as he walked to the edge of the island as he prepared to jump.
“Wait, you don’t know what this place is like, you’ll get lost in no time.” Marisa said smirking. Zaylo glared at her then looked to Alice. “Any chance I could have a guide until I find them?”
Marisa jumped in between them again, and was smiling devilishly. “Sure for a price.”
Zaylo sighed. “And what is this price?”
“You have to give me all the treasures in this town!” Marisa said laughing.
“Fine.” Zaylo said apathetically. Little did Marisa know, Orbis was not a very rich town, and any treasures were most likely hidden.
Zaylo jumped from Orbis, and dove down to the unknown lands below, his new “allies” right behind him.
Hakurei Shrine
A young woman probably around the ages of 16 was sweeping in front of a large shrine. She was the shrine maiden here and was her utmost duty to protect and take care of the shrine, although no one really ever came to it. Reimu looked up at the shrine. It had gone through a lot, being destroyed twice to only be remade thanks to her other friends. She was always a quite dedicated girl and now that all her duties were done, she had a small moment of relaxation. The girl’s name was Reimu Hakurei and she was a “hero” of Gensoyko. A large explosion sounded through the air, and in the sky a blue meteor fell from the sky. A shooting star in the middle of the day? Reimu thought to herself. As the meteor got closer, she realised it wasn’t sailing over head. It was flying down. Reimu realised the danger and began running just as the meteor collided with shrine. A large blue explosion destroyed the shrine causing the roof to explode into two and the wooden walks to be blown to bits. Reimu fell to her knees. Not Again!
A man with a black suit and black jeans came out of the wreckage, his signature pistol by his side. He picked up his bandana and tied it on his lead and looked around. Where was he?
