Well here it is...
Poe, Jona, and Miki walked onto the warm dirt of the path. As they walked along, Miki shared how she found out about her powers and about being a Quester.
“I was 7 when I found out about my powers,” said Miki.
“Really?” said Jona.
“That must have been tough huh.” said Poe.
“Ya, it was,” answered Miki.
Miki talked on and on about her past and Poe and Jona just listened respectfully, knowing well that she was just wanting someone to hear and understand what she went through.
Miki finished talking a while later and then she asked, “So Poe, how did you know about being a Quester?”
“Well, I wa-,”
Before Poe could continue, a shadow leaped out and tackled Poe to the ground. Jona pulled out his Devil Sunrise and cut at the attacker, but the assailant was surprisingly quick, and avoided the attack.
Miki raised a block of earth and knocked the attacker off balance. Poe got up, pulled out his Blue Screamer and charged at the attacker. Poe expected to hear a “thunk”, but what he heard was a dagger sliding out of its scabbard and angled down at his throat.
“No one moves, or this one is dead,” said the attacker.
Jona and Miki both lower their weapons and stood still.
“Good, now tell me where your Master is minion!” said the attacker.
“We don’t work with the minions,” said Jona.
“Don’t lie to me, or the minion here is dead!” the attacker screamed.
“He is telling the truth, you got to believe us,” pleaded Miki.
The attacker pondered on what they said for a minute, but what he failed to notice that Poe had his fingers pointed toward him.
“Since none of you are going to tell me where your master is, then I am going to have to kill you all.”
As the dagger went down, a jolt of electricity shot out from Poe’s fingers and knocked the dagger out of the attacker’s hand. Jona then brings his sword’s point up to the attackers chin and said, “Who are you?”
“I rather die than tell you who I am,” the attacker answered.
Jona, quite taken back that his bluff hadn’t worked, thought if he should kill the attacker or not.
“Don’t kill him Jona, I think I know who he is,” said Poe.
“You do?” said Jona and Miki at the same time.
“Ya, this guy’s name is Brandon, my arch nemesis since first grade.”
“Whaaaaa, Poe?” asked Brandon.
“Don’t recognize me huh?”
Jona let Brandon up, and Brandon walked over to Poe.
“So you have grown up Poe, but still that same old weakling from first grade.”
Poe, still calm, answered, “Well, you want to see then?”
“Hahahaha, don’t make me laugh Poe, I am a Quester and I have more Power than you.”
“Then you shouldn’t be afraid to fight me then,” Poe shot back.
“Fine, I’ll fight you.”
Jona and Miki looked at each other and both took a step back. Poe and Brandon got their weapons out and faced each other. Brandon saw the confidence and seriousness in Poe’s eyes.
“I never lose to Poe, I never,” Brandon thought.
But in reality, Brandon was afraid.
