Official Website for A Pirate's Fury
A Pirate's Fury! Vote 5 Please!
Game Released!
NOTE: If you experience lag, or fall through platforms, then follow this link:
The 'No-Sound' version, use this if you experience lag!
This is the No-sound version. If you experienced lag on the version with sound, this is the one for you. It doesn't have the sound clips in the library, meaning it's not on call, so there is 1.5 MB less on call each frame.

If you are still experiencing lag, disable the background with Menu->Options, if the background is already disabled, close down any background applications (Media player, Games..)

It seems that I won't achieve sponsorship, merely because the sprites are stolen.

Out of all the sponsors I contacted, 70% of them picked up on how I mentioned that the sprites were stolen in my original email, most of the remaining 30% rejected the game because of it's file size, due to complications that would blow their bandwidth usage for the month through the roof. Of those who did not reject the game and kept in contact with me, pursued me to make an offer, 1 made an outstanding offer. I talked with him over messenger this morning about the size issue and payment details. I figured out that he didn't realize that the sprites were stolen and this was not an original game, so I told him, because you cannot keep such details away from such parties. He immediately withdrew his offer, and made the suggestion (Just like a few other sponsors have) to re-skin the game and then he will happily go through with sponsorship. With such a large game, doing so would be a mountainous task that I'm not willing to commit myself to nor do I have the skill to produce art of that quality. So, sponsorship will not occur for "A Pirate's Fury", I'm going to have to resort to my backup plan.

The plan is to involve in-game and website advertisements.

However these advertisements generally do not produce much returns, so I'm going to have to increase the amount of them in the game (An ad will appear every 5 map changes) and rely on enough views to return an adequate amount.

With no market apart from these in-game advertisements, I feel I should step away from making any more Maplestory games, and copyrighted material in general.

Is it working for you?
I have no idea why it's not working on my side.
I've taken a look at the webpage source and found a couple of problems. I've pm'ed you, Gillian.

Gillian got it working! :D
Thanks Gillian!

What exactly do you mean by sponsor again? Are you just trying to look for a website to put the game on? or is it something bigger?

A sponsor is a game website that pays me money for some space in the game itself, like after it loads and on the menu. Usually the game website pays the developer X amount of money to put their logo after the game loads, and a button on the menu that will link to their website, which will produce ad revenue for them, eventually giving them some cash return and profit.

So, you are looking for someone to advertize in your game so you can get money from them?
Also, is that money just for like w/e, or is it for helping host the game?

No more offers, just more interest.
What price range are you thinking in your head for a exclusive sponsorship? I am extremely interested if we can figure out a comfortable price for both of us.
The game looks good. How much are you asking for sponsorship?
Looks good, Can we look at a demo?
...If you get some good offers, I'll see if I can counter...
However,
First of all, if you really made this game yourself within a 6 month
period, its VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE!! The graphics are nice and the gameplay
seems to be very smooth and entertaining.
I just hope none of the graphics were stolen from Maplestory.
I thought I made it clear in my original email I sent out to all the sponsors that the sprites were extracted from Maplestory, and that I did not create them. I'm not sure if the sponsors that are interested above realize this, So I'll need to tell them about it. Of course there are legal issues that some people won't step into, and so some websites have already said "No, re-skin it, and then we'll talk". If reality comes to the worst I'll follow my backup plan, which includes in-game and website advertisements, I just hope they will generate enough returns.
