Starting Your Character
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starting Your Character...

Roll Your Stats!
STR: X
DEX: X
INT: 4/5
LUK: 4/5

Ability Point Allocation
Leave your INT and LUK at 4 or 5. Don't ever add any AP Points into LUK or INT!
Your STR and DEX is determine by your level. Your level equals to your STR, while your DEX as high as possible. This is a bit similar to Archer's AP Allocation.

**Note: You need at least 20 DEX in order to advance to be a Pirate.

(Normal/Low STR Pirate Built) Example...
LEVEL 10
STR: 15
DEX: 47
INT: 4
LUK: 4

When you reach level 10, your STR is recommended to be higher a bit to your level. At least 15 STR, and the other AP to be added all to DEX by level 10.
From level 11 onwards, your STR will always be kept the same with your level. Meaning, STR = YOUR LEVEL.

There's also a Low STR Built. A Low STR Built is when you decided to stop pumping Ability Points into STR, which is required for you to equip with weapons. Example; stop pumping STR at Level 60 and equip with Burning Hell. You will then be equipping with the weapon till the rest of your life in Maple.

Ability Point Allocation (Other Built)

(Pure DEX Gunslinger Built) Example...
LEVEL 10
STR: 4
DEX: 58
INT: 4
LUK: 4

For Pure DEX Gunslinger, you have to start off with STR, INT & LUK to be kept at 4. Everytime you level, you will add all your AP Points into DEX. To be able to equip with weapons/equipments, you will have to get the remaining points by scrolling your equipments.

Advancement to Pirate
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Information
Once you have the requirement of level 10 and at least 20 DEX, proceed to Nautilus Port located at the Southern Part of Victoria Island (Where Florina Beach used to be). Entrance to Nautilus Port can be found at "Forest East of Henesys". There, enter the submarine in the center of town. Walk to the right and enter a door with an "UP" arrow over it. this will take you to the top deck of the ship. Now, walk left and enter the farthest door. Inside is the bridge, where Kairin is located. Talk to Kairin and make the job advancement.

Yay! Congratulations, you are now a Pirate!

Beginning of Pirate
Now, you will choose whether you want to be a Gunslinger or Infighter/Brawler during 2nd Job. While, choose Gunslinger! That is why you are reading the guide! For Gunslinger, it is important to max your Double Shot first, as it is the only attacking skill for you in the 1st job advancement. Though, there's still Somersault kick. But it is quite useless to Gunslinger since we pump DEX for higher damage, while Somersault kick needed STR for higher damage. Gunslinger using Somersault kick will have an extreme horrible damage on monster. But, because its spare skill point, must well add into Somersault kick than Straight.

Requirement: Level 10, With Minimum of 20 DEX or more.

Having more accuracy doesn't hurt and its certainly much useful than somersault kick because at level 30 you could already have one invisible shot and... Level 1 invisible shot > somersault kick in terms of damage and range already

And one more, since Gunslinger is a Dex-Based Class, but the Accuracy gained for every point of Dex is lower than Infighter (Gunslinger Dex = 0.6Acc, Infighter Dex = 0.9Acc) So, Bullet Time is needed, unless you have a lot of Acc EQs.

* Somersault is better, as Straight only allows you to attack 1 enemy, while Somersault is an AOE skill. Anyway, you won't be using this skill much often after a few levels later.

Clarifications on Gaviota By: youDID(:

Gaviota, is a MUST max.
Air strike isn't that useful, due to its 5second cooldown, and it's not that helpful for training.

Gaviota deals like, 4k~7k and it's much much more useful than Air Strike.
I have a 12x Outlaw (GMS, hehe) and I don't find Air Strike that useful at all. It's just another flashy skill that is actually quite irritating, as it hits 6 RANDOM mobs. This might trigger those you haven't freeze yet and they might hit you instead.

Gaviota hits every 1.5~3seconds (someone clarify please). Lets say you are at squids and you use gaviota. You get a 4th hit (Burst Fire is 3, Gaviota 1) and that doesnt require you to do anything much, but you just need to summon it once per 30seconds.

Air strike however is NOT spammable (5sec cooldown) and it's damage might be godly but bear in mind, you won't use this to kill the monsters all the time, will you?

So for gods sake, go max Gaviota.
Flamethrower is useless, Ice Splitter is a must max.

Bossing with Gaviota

I'm sure you have been to those cases where those bosses are in maps that have a monster spawn/they like to summon, right?

Let's take Bigfoot boss for a case-study. (MSEA will get it sooner or later) [Bigfoot hits 11k touch, 1dmg magic stomp magic]

Bigfoot is glitchy, which makes some hits be missed, due to it's frame work/rate. I've solo-ed Bigfoot once, and I'd say, the Jr.Wraiths are a bunch of nuisance. Not many jobs can pin bigfoot that well, and I'd say Gunslinger isnt that good of a pinner too. The thing is, Gaviota is a good skill to the fact that it actually contributes to killing those irritating wraiths around you and also helps hit Bigfoot at times, when there is no Jr.Wraiths around. Can Air Strike do this?

No. Air strike has a long casting time frame and that eats up the time to kill the puny jr wraiths. With a Gaviota, you just need to sit back, spam that Burst Fire/Rapid Fire button with Gaviota still around, and having less worries about getting hit into Bigfoot or something.

3th Job Skill Built for PQ (NEW)

Quote:
MCPQ Built + Training By: theMegamovie

Let me share my experience as a lvl 87 valkyrie. WoT (Wall of Text), but please read on.

Training

Gunslingers-to-be/Gunslingers usually make a loss in the beginning (lvl 20-30+) but when as will eventually earn when they level up higher. They are able to start earning from lvl 58 onwards, once they can start training in Mysterious Path 3.

Valkyries level up fast in the beginning, from level 70+, as Triple shot increases a lot of damage, hence they kill faster in MP3. However, at lvl 80, their levelling speed gets slower as they kill the same speed, but yet the experience to-next-level gets higher and higher.

Skills

During my second job, I increased my Gun Mastery skill up to level 19, had Invisible shot, then I maxed Booster. I wanted to max booster so that I can kill quickly without keeping activating it. Anyway, I'm suggesting a MCPQ build, where instead of focusing on the training aspect, I'm focusing more on the skills that are helpful in MCPQ.

MCPQ build
Lv.30 - Lv.36 : 19 Gun Mastery (A must. Stable damage is required to kill quickly.)
Lv.37 - Lv.38 : 6 Gun Booster (For quicker killing. 1 minute should be enough.)
Lv.39 - Lv.45 : 20 Fake Shot, 1 Wings
Lv.46 - Lv.47 : (4+1) 5 Wings, 2 Backstep shot (Increase the distance between monsters in MCPQ, especially fast moving ones like Trojans.)
Lv.48 - Lv.50 : 11 Backstep Shot

The reason why I did not put Invisible Shot in the front, is because it does not kill quickly enough and has lower shooting range than double fire. In MCPQ, players play swap PQ, and they normally summon Trojans. Stunning them and killing them one by one is faster than trying to killing 3 at the same time.

As from Level 51 onwards, you can choose whether you want the build to suit, 1) Orbis PQ or 2) Training. Since most Orbis PQs are rush party quests, the build can be the same.

Lv.51 - Lv.57 : 20 Invisible Shot, (1+6) 7 Gun Booster
Lv.58 - Lv.62 : 20 Gun Booster, (2+11) 13 Backstep Shot
Lv.63 - Lv.65 : 20 Backstep Shot, (1+19) 20 Gun Mastery, (1+5) 6 Wings
Lv.66 - Lv.67 : 10 Wings, 2 Throwing Bomb
Lv.68 - Lv.70 : 11 Throwing Bomb

Invisible Shot, needless to say, is a training skill. Hence, it takes more importance than maxing Backstep shot from level 51 onwards. The skills may be split up, but those are the skills needed for MCPQ.

To put it neatly:

Level 30: +1 Gun Mastery -Start MCPQ-
Level 31: +3 Gun Mastery

Level 65: +1 Backstep Shot (20 Backstep Shot, MAXED), +1 Gun Mastery (20 Gun Mastery, MAXED), +1 Wings
Level 66: +3 Wings
Level 67: +1 Wings (10 Wings, MAXED), +2 Throwing Bomb
Level 68: +3 Throwing Bomb
Level 69: +3 Throwing Bomb
Level 70: +3 Throwing Bomb (11 Throwing Bomb)

Ok now to Valkyrie skills.

Ice Splitter is useless until lvl 20+. I would rather use Fake shot stun for 4 seconds. However the summon's attack will dispel the stun but not freeze. Both Ice Splitter and Flamethrower are not desgined to be spammed. For Ice Splitter, the damage is low, so the freeze is the only good thing about it. For Flamethrower, the burning damage is 5% of the initial damage. It burns for 2 seconds, 5 times. Hence it's another additional 25% damage done. If it's used before Ice splitter, the monster would be frozen and yet taking burn damage. However, Flamethrower would not be effective if the damage is low, hence it should be maxed at the later stage and used with Blaze Capsule.

Gaviota and Homing Beacon works together, so put in a lvl 1 Homing Beacon when maxing Gaviota.

Right now, I'm getting Ice Splitter, and have lvl 8 Octopus. I regret putting in Octopus so early. lol. I'm tried to solo Sotongs from level 82 onwards, and it was crazy. But it's faster than MP3. However now, it's getting slower also. So I have no choice but to leech my Valkyrie using my Bishop at Black Kentaurus.

At level 92, I can party at squids again. Then at level 100+, I can solo/party at nest golems, or leech, which I would probably do, till 4th job.

Recommended Equipments
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Level 1~10: Weapon(s)
Starting...
- Sword
- Hand Axe
- Wooden Club (Recommended! Higher W.A. then Sword and Hand Axe)
After...
- Dorco Dagger
Double Axe

Don't really have to care what weapon to use for the first few levels. Do quest to get a decent weapon for your level will do. A Dorco Dagger is good enough.

About Bullet(s)
In order to use the bullet, you need to be equipped with a pistol. Pistol unlike throwing-stars have a level requirement to use it. Therefore, you will be using a "bullet" in your entire 1st Job Advancement being a Gunslinger. As the next available "bullet" have a level requirement of 30.

Level 10~20: Weapon(s)

By level 10, get a pistol (gun) and purchase the bullet which cost 600 mesos per set from any potion store. Bullets are similar to throwing-stars, they are re-chargeable.
►Pistol (Level 10)◄
By level 15, get a Dillinger. You will have to continue to use your bullets, as the next bullet that you can use has an level requirement of 30.
►Dellinger (Level 15)◄
By level 20, get a Garand Pistol.
►Garand Pistol◄

Level 21~30: Weapon(s)

By level 25, get a Golden Hook. Try to hunt for your Split Bullet (Level 30 Bullet) if possible.
►Golden Hook (Level 25)◄
By level 30, get a Cold Mind. By this level, you are eligible to get a new set of bullets; Split Bullets.
►Cold Mind (Level 30)◄

Scroll(s)
For me, I will said that it is not recommended to keep on adding STR for your equipments/weapons. You should stop at a certain level, and begin adding DEX all the way till the end.
Example; Stop adding STR @ Level 60. From next level onwards, add all your AP to Dex. You can choose to continue equipping higher leveled equipments, by just getting scrolls and scrolling them with STR.

Cheap Scroll(s) for low-funded

Increase DEX/Damage (Armor)
Name: 100% Scroll for Overall Armor for DEX (+1 DEX)
Price: 35, 000 mesos
Sold at: The Swamp of Despair II, From Tulcus.

Get 10 of those scrolls.
35k X 10 = 350k
350k allows you to increase your DEX by 10.

Increase Damage (Weapon)
Name: 100% Scroll for Gun for Attack (Weapon Attack +1)
Price: 70, 000 mesos
Sold at: The Tree That Grew III, From El Moth

Get 7 of those scrolls.
70k X 7 = 490k
490k allows you to increase your Weapon Attack by 7.

It is available in Kerning party quest, where you retrieve your reward. Take note that the chance for getting it is thin, so if you have time, you can occasionally join this PQ.

The reason why Green Bamboo Hat is a excellent suggestion for Level 30 Broke-Pirate is because it provide DEX +3, and its FREE! On the other hand, Level 30 Pirate Hat (Forgot name as I don't buy LOL) cost you 40k meso, and provide STR (STR increase Knuckle damage) but no DEX ( DEX increase Gun damage).

So if:

Green Bamboo Hat (Free) + Cold Mind (50,000) + Brown Pola-ard (60,000)/Bathrobe (30,000) = 110,000 meso/80,000 meso

Compare with

Level 30 Pirate Hat (40,000) + Cold Mind (50,000) + Brown Pola-ard (60,000)/Bathrobe (30,000) = 150,000 meso/120,000 meso

Even a noob knows which is cheaper.

Conclusion: First choice is cheaper then the second choice.

To handle the gobies, all you need to do is stand far, kill house, freeze, invisible shot, free, invisible shot. Rinse and repeat.
To handle the bottom lane, just mob the squids to one corner and kill from the other side. Stun the monsters that get close to you.
